Sometime と Sometimes の 使い分け

 

Sometime と Sometimesは全く違う

Though they are different only by one letter, the two words are completely different.

 

“Sometime” means “one time in the future.”

“Sometimes” means “an infrequent habit”

Because “sometime” is used for an action in the future, the verb is always future tense.

I will go to Tokyo sometime. ◎

将来に東京に行きます

I go to Tokyo sometime. ×

将来に東京に行っています

Because “sometimes” is a habit, it is used with present tense.

I will go to Tokyo sometimes. ×

将来にたまに東京に行きます

I go to Tokyo sometimes.◎

たまに東京に行きます
