久しぶり！ do you know how to say ひさしぶりin English?
You can say long time no see!
英語で「ひさしぶり」って何て言うか知っていますか？
「long time no see!」と言うんです。
It’s been six months since I last updated. Six months! Wow! When I saw that I thought “I cant believe its been so long”
I’m sorry I took such a long break.
But from now, the podcast is going to change in a lot of great ways for you!
最後の投稿から6か月が経ちました。6か月！それを思うと“そんなに時間がたってたなんて信じられないなぁ”という感じです。
こんなに長い間お休みしてしまってごめんなさい。
でもこれからはこのポッドキャストは皆さんのお役に立てるように
いろいろな意味で大きく変わっていきますよ。

The background
What happened in those six months I was gone?
Around march, I started to get… lets say overwhelmed.
I was making blog posts, making youtube videos, and making podcast episodes for you. It was non-stop content creation!
But for some reason, I didnt feel very much 達成感.
“僕がポッドキャストをお休みしていたこの６か月間の間に何があったのか？”
３月あたりの頃、なんというか・・・そうだなぁ落ち込み始めた・・・とでもいうのかな？
ブログの投稿、Youtubeの動画づくり、ポッドキャストのエピソード作りをしていました。
ずっと作り続けているという感じで・・・
でもいくつかの理由があって、あまり達成感を感じなかったんです。
Why was that? I was making useful content that you liked!
Well, I looked deep into my heart. And I remembered something.
I didn’t start IU-Connect to become a popular teacher, or even to have the most popular podcast or youtube channel.
なぜなんだろう？みんなが気に入ってくれるような役に立つコンテンツを作っていたのに・・・
うーん、よく自分の気持ちを掘り下げてみると、あることを思い出したんですよね
有名な英語講師になったり、ポッドキャストやYoutubeで有名になるつもりでユーコネクトを始めたわけじゃなかったんです。
I started IU-Connect because I wanted to help you achieve your dreams. To be able to go out and actually experience English, to connect with foreigners from all over the world.
And it is really important that you make that dream come true.
ユーコネクトを始めた理由は、皆さんの夢を達成させたくて始めたんです。
実際に外に出て、世界中の外国人とつながって英語を体験することができるようになること。
それは皆さんの夢をかなえるために本当に重要なことなんです。
The number of foreigners in Japan is increasingly really quickly!
And with The Olympics coming in 2020, the number of foreigners in Japan will increase even more! Japan needs more people who will actually USE English to talk with those foreigners. to share japanese culture with the world.
That wont happen just by listening to a podcast.
We need a movement.
日本に来る外国人の数は本当に急激に増えています。
2020年のオリンピックに伴ってもっともっと増えていくでしょう。
日本は、日本の文化を世界にシェアできるように、実際に話すために英語を使える人がもっとたくさん必要です。
それにはポッドキャストを聞いてるだけでは実現しません。
私たちにはムーブベントが必要です。
So, in April, I officially took a break from everything I was doing in IU-Connect to create the foundation for this movement.
Starting in Tokyo, and then expanding all over Japan, we are creating a movement to help people become connectors, people who use English to connect with people from all over the world.
And you are welcome to join it.
How can you do that?
そう、そして4月からはそのムーブメントの土台を作るために、ユーコネクトの活動をすべてお休みしました。
東京から始まって日本中に広まるように、英語を使って世界中の人とつながる“コネクター”になる人たちを支えるためのムーブメントを作ってきました。
みなさんにも参加していただきたいんです。

2. You can learn the IU-Connect Method

The current ways to learn English in Japan dont work. No matter how hard you study, whenever you come face to face with a foreigner in the real world, your mind goes blank. words dont come out.

There needs to be a better way.
