I’m sorry, but

Excuse me, but

どちらでも十分丁寧です。「I’m sorry」の方は、「申し訳ない」の気持ちが入っているのでさらに丁寧です。

ポイント:それぞれのフレーズは「but」で終わります。「but」は「言っていることが続く」という役割があります。「but」を使わないと、相手は注意が引かれないかもしれません。

写真を撮ってもらえますか?

注意を引いたあとで、写真を撮ってもらうようにお願いできます。

目線を合わせ、笑顔で以下のフレーズを言います。

Would it be possible to take a picture of me?

Could you take a picture of me?

Thanks so much!

というフレーズを使います。

写真を撮ってもらった後で、写真を確認するのは普通です。

もし写真がよければ、

It looks great!

と言います。

もしよくなければ、

Could you take another one?

と言います。

以上のフレーズを使うと、無事に写真を撮ってもらうことができます!

また、感謝を表すために、

Thanks so much!

と言います。

スムーズに言えるまで、以上のフレーズを練習しましょう!以上の場面を想像しながら練習すると、さらに覚えやすくなるのです。

  1. These two words “Hooters” and “map” didn’t work to some American English speakers when I was in Las Vegas.
Then, it was already after staying 6 months in the US so I was shocked.
Looking backward, those experiences has made me conscious of the importance of Pronunciation.

The problem of Hooters one was acutally just like the difference between British water pronunciation n American one. The emphasis on the sound “t” was supporsed to be more likely small “d” sound…
And the word “map”!! Just three letters!! Did not work Lol…

“Excuse me sir, I’d like to get the map around here”
The guy who I was asking to looked he didn’t hear me, so again, “How could I get the map?” he was like “What?”
so asked again, “I want the map” he said “W…what?”
Then, I was feeling like, What the hell had I studied…
Are you getting it? That was “a” sound’s problem of “map”.
Actually, I had never focused on such a detail like the correct sound of “map” because it’s so short.
But I found that even short or easy-look words, your mother tongue(Japasese for me) might not have had the sounds.

After that experiences, I’ve focused on the detail pronunciation much more than the way I had done.
    Really worth event.

    By the way,
$250 quickly vanished ever on some blackjack table on the trip, however, that was the TUITION!!
Do you guys think it’s costly?
    cuz i don’t wanna think it was.Lol
Thank you for reading through this long shit!

    1. Hi Takashi,

  2. I usually said: Could you please take a picture for me , Is it ok too ?
What is the difference between ” picture ” and ” photo ” ?
There are so many kind of sandwich , when you ordered , you have to choose the kind
of bread first , then choosed the ingredients and the sauces . It’s so difficult to
order it , could make a lesson of it ? It will be very helpful , thanks !

    1. Hi yurina!

“Could you please take a picture for me” Is alright as well, but “Could you please” depending on how you say it, can seem イライラしてそう. So be careful!

A picture is just an image, whether drawn or of real life people. A photo is always of something from reality, not drawn.

Yes! I’ll think about it! I’ll see what other members say about it!

  3. 写真を撮るときは何て言うの?「チーズ」?「1、2 の 3」?

    What shoud I say takeing a picture? ” Say cheese” ? ” 1,2,3″?
